The Graze V.184: At a Threshold

Dear Friends,

As snow begins to cover the ground at Mission Farm and a new season approaches, change is in the air. The world is undergoing massive shifts, recognized by ecologists, psychologists, physicists, and theologians. We find ourselves at a threshold, a liminal space where the familiar world is unraveling and new configurations are emerging. Glaciers are melting, forests are burning, lakes are drying up, soils are depleted and deserts are flooding. These changes are of epic proportions.

These natural rhythms make it clear that our current ways of relating to the living world cannot continue as they have in the past. A new generation sees the world from a vastly different perspective. A space is opening in our lived experience, calling us to remember that we are not separate from the Earth and the Source of Love that encompasses all that we have been, are, and will be.

Mission Farm continues to seek ways to express an enduring faith and experience community at this threshold. How can our faith and love be expressed in the midst of such grief and urgency for change? Where can we find spaces to share our resources and celebrate our connections?

At Mission Farm, this season will bring an opportunity for invitation and gratitude for all we share. In 2024, our focus will be on accessibility, hospitality and connection. The Kitchen at Mission Farm will finally become a reality, providing a cooperative space for local food makers to create and share food from the land. Our land and buildings will become more accessible. We will create signage and communicate our mission of love and connection as we discover where the Spirit is emerging among us.

I invite you to share in these efforts at the threshold. We are seeking your support for our operational budget and for the shifts we will make this coming year for a deeper connection. Please consider a gift to Mission Farm. You can give directly HERE.

I also invite you to share in the joy of this connection at Mission Farm - walk the trails, participate in the garden, and help to build a new way to share food.

With love and faith at the threshold,

🌱Lisa
