2024
A New Season

Fall 2023

Dear Friends,

For a week in July, Mission Farm Road became the only thoroughfare between Woodstock and Vermont’s north and west roads as an unexpected deluge of rain fell across the state.

This experience brought us closer to our neighbors and highlighted our role as a central physical and spiritual space in our rural community.

We seek your support as we continue to stand at the crossroads of spiritual connection, a hub for community engagement, where all belong. Mission Farm offers deep connection: with self, others, the natural world and the Source of all-Love.

As an entity of the Episcopal Church, we believe in the sacred nature of individuals and of all creation.

Your contribution, of whatever size, is vital to sustain Mission Farm and to build our future. This year, our initiatives include improving accessibility and invitation to the space at Mission Farm and establishing a vibrant and cooperative community kitchen where food can be prepared and shared.

We invite you to share in this mission of Love.

With deep gratitude for the beauty and peace of this space and the feeding of hearts and bodies,

2023

Celebration - A space of joy

Despite the flooding and damage this summer, more than 300 people came together in August for the Meadows and Mountains Festival at Mission Farm! We celebrated our community's resilience and the ‘Odeon’ installation - an amphitheater created by stonewall artist Dan Snow.

Landscape & Odeon

The invitation at Mission Farm begins with the land. Partnering with Jack Rossi Landscape, a permaculture design was developed. A sweep of maple trees were planted along Mission Farm Road.

The ‘Odeon’ offers an intimate amphitheater to host gatherings and offer a space of contemplation.

2024 Initiatives

Accessibility & Invitation

Invitation is at the core of our mission. In 2024, we look towards the creation of clear signage and accessible walkways. These inviting paths will ensure easy access from parking areas to the chapel, the amphitheater (Odeon), the kitchen and the paths beyond.

The Kitchen at Mission Farm

In 2024, The Mission Farm Gardens and Community Kitchen will be renovated to offer cooperative space - showcasing local food, offering support to food artisans, and promoting food security. The Kitchen will allow us to extend hospitality, gratefully receive the gift of local food and generously share with our neighbors.

Values

Connection & Hospitality

Your contribution ensures the stewardship and maintenance of this special space so that it can be available for all to experience connection with God, self, one another, and the natural world.

Environmental Conservation

Your support means that our staff and volunteers can adequately maintain and protect our 182 acres of land as we engage in faithful spiritual response to our planet's environmental crisis, starting in our own backyard.

Justice

Investing in Mission Farm strengthens our ability to reach out to those in our community with lesser access to resources. Our commitment to equity is reflected in our mission around food and the environment.

Share in the mission of Love

Mission Farm is building a community and culture of love at this pivotal time. We are seeking donations to sustain our 2024 operating budget and for our 2024 initiatives of invitation and food. Every donation is an offering of love.
